The Hot@Hand Buffet Cart has been certified for Shabbos use by the Kashrus Division of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America. The following are the instructions for its use: EREV SHABBOS Both liquid and solid food may be placed in cart before Shabbos. All food should be fully cooked before inserting. Liquid foods should be noticeably warm. Pans and pots etc. should be placed as is into warmer without wrapping or any form of insulation. ON SHABBOS According to most authorities, solid dry foods may be placed in warmer on Shabbos. For example, a dry kugel may be taken from refrigerator and put in Buffet Cart on Shabbos. No congealed fat or jelled liquid may be visible on food. Liquid foods that had been kept hot and are still noticeably warm may be taken from the table and placed in or returned to warmer. Those of Sephardic extraction may not use cart for liquids on Shabbos unless food is transferred directly to cart from stove or oven. For Erev Shabbos there are no restrictions by Sephardim.
